When the Jets took the field Friday Night, for the first time in years, there was a sense of optimism.

After what seemingly looked like a Home Run on draft night in addition to a successful Free Agency, Jets fans FINALLY expressed joy!

Well, it lasted about ten minutes. The “Milf Hunter” AKA the “Bust” AKA Zach Wilson went down on the second drive of the game with a non contact injury. In what seemed like a possible ACL tear, ended up being a minor meniscus tear, which could sideline the second year QB early in the year.

For once, the Jets caught a break. Despite the break, the bottom line is… Zach Wilson is not a franchise QB. Am I jumping the gone? Absolutely. Do I hope I’m wrong? Sure. Am I wrong, no. Wilson’s non contact knee injury was a glaring display of his mediocre athleticism and his interception (opening drive) was a high-school mistake in which Zach was utterly fooled by a zone coverage.

The Jets have aspirations to be competitive this year, and if the BYU QB can take a step forward, the Jets seems like a fair bet to hover around 7/8 wins. If the first preseason game was indicative of anything – the Jets have Sam Darnold 2.0.

Hopefully Zach can prove me wrong.
