We are just a couple of more sleeps away before the Giants open their 2022 campaign visiting Derrick Henry and the Tennessee Titans.

The last time these two teams met four years ago at MetLife Stadium, it was a 17-0 shutout in favor of the visiting Titans.

This time around, things have changed in New York.

For the first time, we will see how Daniel Jones performs with a new head coach in Brian Daboll and a new offensive coordinator in Mike Kafka.

He’ll also have some new faces on the receiving corp and on the offensive line.

We’ll also witness Wink Martindale’s schemes as the new defensive coordinator for the team.

It’s another new formula for Big Blue looking to go back into the postseason for the first time since 2016.

While much excitement engulfs the Giants, they’ll be missing key players this weekend, especially on defense.

The biggest blow to the Giants defense was to their linebacker room.

Kayvon Thibodeaux, the fifth overall selection in this year’s draft, was officially listed as doubtful for the contest.

The Oregon edge rusher suffered an MCL sprain during week 2 of the preseason on a controversial block from Bengals tight end Thaddeus Moss.

He noted that he was feeling “better” this week and the team considers him to be day-to-day.

Not only does it seem highly unlikely that the G-Men’s #1 draft pick will play, but they are also being cautious with fellow edge rusher Azeez Ojulari (calf) as he is also listed as doubtful.

Both men returned to practice this week in limited fashion.

Veteran rushers Jihad Ward and Oshane Ximines will have to step in as rushers opposite Derrick Henry.

The good news is that Sterling Shepard (Achilles) will make his return to the field after over 8 months away from the game.

He tore his achilles late last year against Dallas, but is reportedly aching to go opposite Kenny Golloday as the starting wide receivers.

Shepard was considered a game-time decision until he was removed from the injury report today.

He is the longest tenured Giant on the current roster.

Daboll told the media that all players on the injury list earlier in the week traveled with the team and that they would all be game-time decisions.

The list also included the Giants’ 4th round selection this year, safety Dane Belton (Clavicle).

The journey starts Sunday at 4:25 pm EST from Nashville, Tennessee.
