Updated Story: Christian McCaffrey (quad) was absent from the portion of Panthers practice open to the media on Thursday.
Annnnnnd it’s panic time. McCaffrey has now missed back-to-back practice as the Panthers inch closer to their week four matchup vs. the Cardinals. At this point it’s fair to consider 50/50 for Sunday. Matt Rhule didn’t exactly give McCaffrey owners a ringing endorsement when he refused to comment on the star’s injury Wednesday.
D’Onta Foreman the likely starter if McCaffrey misses week four, should be universally owned as a contingency plan. He projects as a plug-and-play RB2 against the Cardinals.

Here we go again. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said the injury popped up after the Week 3 win over the Saints. Rhule refused to comment on McCaffrey’s Week 4 availability against the Cardinals, suggesting the injury is more serious than the minor issues he’d already been dealing with.
McCaffrey’s body seemingly cant take on a full workload despite being just 26 years old. Through three weeks McCaffrey is the RB11 in PPR formats. He’s coming off a 27 touch performance vs. the Saints. McCaffrey ranks 8th in carries and 12th in targets amongst RB’s.
This injury will be heavily monitored moving forward. Stay tuned.
