NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Week 6 is “the most realistic” return date for Dak Prescott (thumb).

Prescott underwent surgery after he suffered a broken thumb in Week 1 vs. the Buccaneers. Rapoport reported the Dallas QB had his stitches removed on Monday and everything has gone “really well” in his recovery. He mentioned Prescott has a “slim chance” of playing in Week 5 but Dallas likely wont rush him back with Cooper Rush playing well for the time being. Rush, who is now 3-0 as a starter, has won consecutive games for Dallas propelling them to a 2-1 record after losing their season opener. With Rush keeping the train on the tracks, Dallas can afford to be patient with Prescott’s return.

The Cowboys host the Washington Commanders in Week 4 before going to LA to play the Rams in Week 5. On tap for Week 6 is a showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Get your popcorn ready.
