Death, Taxes, and Antonio Gibson disappointing fantasy owners. After an inauspiciously hot start to the season Antonio Gibson has come crashing down to earth. The Commanders RB played on just 41% of snaps against the Cowboys in Week 4.
After starting the season with a 65% snap share against the Jaguars, Gibson has seen his role drop off in consecutive weeks. He has now posted back-to-back games with a 45% snap share or lower. While Gibson’s declining usage has been game-script related, the declining role is still concerning. The Commanders have been outscored 49-18 over the last two weeks, and Gibson has averaged just 10 PPG in that span. Since Week 1, Gibson has averaged just 3.0 yards per carry on 39 touches.
It’s a concerning development, and with Brian Robinson nearing a return to the lineup soon, Gibson owners should be searching elsewhere.
