The Falcons placed Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) on injured reserve on Monday.
Patterson was questionable with a knee injury ahead of Sunday’s game against the Browns and saw just nine touches on the day for 38 yards and a TD. This explains the severely dialed back workload, as Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley both saw 10 carries, with each back averaging over 5.0 YPC. The Falcons implemented a run heavy attack vs. a Myles Garrett-less Browns defense, attempting 35 rush attempts in comparison to just 19 passes.
Both Allgeier and Huntley become must-adds ahead of the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Buccaneers. Allgeier profiles as the better PPR back, while Huntley could see more goal line opportunities. Regardless, both should be atop week five waiver priorities.
Despite battling a knee injury, Patterson flourished through the first month of the season. He’s currently the RB12 in PPR formats.
