Pro wrestling rumors come and go, but this one could be a reality very soon.

CM Punk has been M.I.A from the AEW ring since his win at ‘All Out’ in September, which without a doubt has to do with the aftershocks of the post show brawl between Punk and The Elite. The Young Bucks as well as Kenny Omega have not been seen on AEW since that night either.

Ace Steel, who was also involved in the recent fiasco was released from the roster altogether- which is leading fans to believe there is a possibility that AEW may have lost one of their best gets since it’s launch.

Other rumors circulating have reported that CM Punk is in talks with Tony Khan about contract buyouts.

While this may be sad news for AEW fans- it could be a glimmer of hope for WWE fans alike.

You may be reading this and thinking “there is no way that Punk would ever come back to the company”- but here this out.

Earlier this year Vince McMahon stepped down from his head position with the company, leaving his daughter, Stephanie McMahon and son-in-law Triple H in charge.

Considering McMahon is no longer calling the shots, there is a possibility that Punk may come back to the WWE ring. With a combination of AEW’s current state, contract buyouts, Vince stepping down and the current hardcore direction HHH is trying to take the company to, while it may seem unlikely- it is most definitely not impossible to believe the speculations that we may just see one of the greatest returns to the WWE in wrestling history.
