According to ESPN, the NFL has flexed the Commanders and New York Giants to Sunday Night Football on Dec. 18 at 8:15 p.m.

The news comes less than 24 hours after the two tied 20-20 at MetLife Stadium. The league flexed out the New England Patriots vs. Las Vegas Raiders game.

The rematch certainly projects to have massive playoff implications. Both teams were inside the NFC playoff picture before Sunday’s game, but the tie and a Seattle Seahawks win against the Los Angeles Rams shook the picture up. Seattle flipped with Washington, taking the seventh spot and knocking the Commanders to the eighth seed. The Giants still currently sit as the sixth seed.

The Commanders (7-5-1) will be on a bye week 14, while the Giants (7-4-1) are set to host Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the Eagles.

It was reported yesterday, Chase Young will make his season debut in the pivotal divisional matchup next Sunday.

Get your popcorn ready.
