The Yankees re-signed general manager Brian Cashman to a four-year contract.

The 56-year-old now remains at the the top of the Yankees’ front office through the 2026 season. The expectation over the last few months was the two sides would ultimately come to an agreement on a new contract and now the deal is finally done.

Cashman has been calling the shots for the Yankees since 1998, and is the third longest-tenured general manager in team history. Over that span, the Yankees have won 14 division titles, six American League pennants and four World Series titles (1998, ’99, 2000 and ’09).

“I’ve been working for this franchise for a long time, I’m honored to be a part of the Yankee family,”Cashman said. “I’d like to stay here; they’d like to have me here,” Cashman said. “The atmosphere is all there. It’ll all work out.”

Expect the Yankees to be busy over the next few weeks of free agency as the marquee players continue to come off the board. Step 1? Aaron Judge
