The saga is over, and Yankees fans can breathe a sigh of relief after all of the agony from yesterday. The 2022 AL MVP, OF Aaron Judge, has agreed to a 9-year, $360 million contract with the New York Yankees, per Jon Morosi of the MLB Network and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. This ends all speculations of any moves out west to the San Francisco Giants.

Yesterday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post sent the MLB world into a frenzy on Twitter after he tweeted that Judge was apparently headed to the Giants at around the 5:00 pm EST hour. A few minutes later, he apologized to the people, saying that he “jumped the gun” after the Giants said that they never heard from Judge on their offer. Nevertheless, it appears that Judge has chosen where he wants to be for the foreseeable future. The Yankees have repeatedly said that they wanted Judge to stay in New York for his entire career, and this deal further solidifies that idea.

He broke the American League home run record last year with 62 of them, accompanied with 131 RBIs, a .311 Batting Average, a 1.111 On Base Plus Slugging %, and a Wins Over Replacement ratio of 10.6. Arguably one of the best years for an offensive player. The Yankees got their free agency signings started when they inked RP Tommy Kahnle yesterday, and now after patiently waiting, they retain their most coveted player.

He’s coming home.
