Death, taxes, and trying to follow the Odell Beckham sweepstakes.

Speaking at a owners’ meeting on Monday, Jerry Jones did not rule out the possibility of the Cowboys signing Odell Beckham Jr. “I don’t want to talk about that but stand by. This thing could break.” ESPN’s Todd Archer reports, Jones said if OBJ were to sign that it would be sooner rather than later.

The never ending drama surrounding Odell continues. The Cowboys spent over a month speaking to the 30-year-old, but the two sides have yet to agree on a deal. The recent signing of T.Y. Hilton would incline some to believe a deal is all but dead, but Jones won’t solidify that statement.

We do know that earlier in December, Jones said,  he’s “not confident at all” in Odell Beckham’s knee health. “You got a lot of history here and you can take a good look at, not only the obvious and that’s his performance, but also any issues regarding health,” Jones added.

We also know Beckham has not worked out for any of the teams he has met with, and is seeking a multi-year contract. With his health still in massive question, it’s difficult to envision anyone taking a multi-year shot on a player coming off a second ACL tear.

Beckham also met with the Giants and Bills. Buffalo recently signed John Brown and Cole Beasley, suggesting the Bills are no longer in the sweepstakes.

At this point it looks like the Dallas Cowboys or bust. Which in other words means, everything is still on the table.
