Knicks Lose 2025 Second-Round Pick for Tampering

The Knicks have lost the rights to a second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft for tampering with Jalen Brunson before free agency last summer.

The league investigated the Knicks, ultimately finding that there was contact before the start of free agency. Gee, what a surprise.

“This outcome reflected a finding, following an investigation, that the Knicks engaged in free agency discussions involving Jalen Brunson prior to the date when such discussions were permitted,” the league said in a statement. The NBA added the Knicks fully cooperated with the investigation.

Essentially the Knicks lose a future second-round pick, but still have Brunson, who’s been worth every penny through 31 games in MSG. Seems like a fair deal.

The 26-year-old inked a four-year, $104 million contract in July, and has propelled the Knicks to an 18-13 record and a eight-game winning streak.

The NBA’s hottest team will look to extend their winning ways tonight when they host the Toronto Raptors.
