Reports say the Arizona Cardinals are firing head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise for the 4-13 Cardinals. Despite signing an extension just ten months ago, the Cardinals showed zero signs of improvements in 2023.

The move comes a day after the Cardinals lost their season finale, 38-13, to the San Francisco 49ers completing a 4-13 season. Kingsbury finished his Cardinals career with a record of 28-36-1.

Kingsbury was hired in January 2019, just two months after he was fired from Texas Tech.

The 43-year-old coached the team for four seasons, leading the Cardinals to just one playoff appearance, eventually losing to the Rams in the Wild Card Round.

His highly touted college-style offense utterly failed, and the team’s franchise QB, Kyler Murray has continued to underperform.

Despite the team being in existence for over 100 years, no Cardinals head coach has ever lasted longer than six years on the job.
