(New York, NY) – A former girlfriend of Mets minor leaguer Khalil Lee is accusing him of domestic assault. The woman is suing Lee in federal court, claiming she was choked and had her hair pulled during an argument.
This allegedly took place on May 7, 2022. Around that same time, Lee was demoted from Triple-A Syracuse to High-A St. Lucie in order to work on his swing. He did spend some time with the Mets in June as the club dealt with a number of injuries. Lee’s former girlfriend says the incident in question left her with multiple bruises on her body.
The 24-year-old outfielder is on the Mets’ 40-man roster, and was expected to be with the club during spring training.
