49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk Blast Eagles

There is still some saltiness on the San Francisco side following the NFC Championship.

49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk took to The SFNiners via NBCSportsBayArea to say the Eagles are lucky to make it to the Super Bowl.

“…you got to get lucky to win the Super Bowl,” Aiyuk said. “And they got extremely lucky.”

This follows the Eagles’ 31-7 win over the 49ers in the NFC Championship last week. An early Philadelphia lead paired with a Brock Purdy injury opened the floodgates for an eventual Philly win.

Despite suffering what was later discovered to be a torn UCL in his throwing elbow, Brock Purdy returned to the game after the Niners’ fourth-string quarterback, Josh Johnson suffered a concussion in the matchup.

Even though Philly held the Niners to seven points, the team’s lowest total of the season, Aiyuk went on to call the Eagles frauds.

“If I were going to bet on this game, I would take everything I own, get it in cash, and put my money on the Kansas City Chiefs.”

“I don’t know fully about that defense,” Aiyuk added. “They talk about them being a good defense; I’m not sure. I think the pass game, this Kansas City pass game, will expose what we thought we were going to be able to expose before some unfortunate circumstances.”

Aiyuk is talking about the same Eagles team that gave up the least amount of passing yards this season at 3057. Not to mention being tied for third in the NFL in interceptions.

Luck or not, numbers tend not to lie. And right now, the Eagles have only allowed over 22 points once since December 4th. That was against the Cowboys on Christmas Eve.

Philadelphia faces Kansas City in the Super Bowl on Sunday at 6:30.
