Former New York Great Thinks Aaron Rodgers is Too Sensitive to Survive

(New York, NY) – If you can make it here, you can make it – anywhere. But Tiki Barber doesn’t think Aaron Rodgers would be a success in New York.

Of course it was Frank Sinatra who started spreading the news about New York’s sometimes harsh nature, and it stands to reason Tiki Barber would also know, considering his history with the New York Giants.

After carving out a hall of fame worthy career, Barber retired from the NFL prior to the 2007-2008 season, which ultimately saw the Giants win the Super Bowl. He didn’t part with the Giants or their fans on good terms, as he had suggested then QB Eli Manning wasn’t an effective leader.

Now working as a sports talker in New York City, Barber said on WFAN he thinks Rodgers is too sensitive to succeed in the Big Apple.

He was referring to Rodgers’ recent comments on the Pat McAfee Show, in which he disputed that NFL insiders Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport have any access to his camp. That came in response to reports that Rodgers would be considering his NFL future in total darkness, so as to fully immerse himself in deep thought.

Barber, who has endured a rocky relationship with New York fans and its media corps, is in a unique position to sound off. The fact he thinks Rodgers would be unable to take the heat carries a bit more weight.

That said, it’s unlikely that many Jets fans are worried about Rodgers’ mental state, remaining more focused on what uniform he’ll wear next year.
