Could Lakers Forward Anthony Davis be joining Luka Doncic in Dallas?
The rumor mill has been swirling in regard to Davis potentially joining the Dallas Mavericks after a report leaked Tuesday evening.
According to The Bleacher Report’s Colin Cowherd, LeBron James is “not happy” with Davis and feels that he should be “held accountable” more often.
“I talked to an NBA source who I’ve known for a long time, he said the Dallas Mavericks and Anthony Davis, keep your eye on it…Anthony Davis is pouting, LeBron’s holding him accountable, LeBron’s not happy with him.” – Colin Cowherd
Before suffering an unfortunate foot injury, Davis was averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds in his first 25 games, and dropped a whopping 55 points on the Washington Wizards back in December. Whereas post injury, the eight time all-star is averaging just 22 points per game.
The friction between James and Davis does seem to have a bit more to the story, as many fans have been speculating some off-court drama between the teammates due to Anthony Davis’s demeanor following Lebron’s shot that officially made him NBA’s all time leading scorer. Davis stayed glued to the bench as everyone around him gave standing ovations.
When asked about the ordeal, Davis reportedly claimed it was merely because they were down against Oklahoma City when Lebron hit the shot.
It was also reported that if true, Davis’s move from LA to Dallas will be an offseason trade.
For now, Lakers fans can only hope the superstars work their differences out. Los Angeles sits in 13th in the Eastern Conference at 27-32 heading into the All Star break.
