Paul Pierce–a former NBA great best remembered for his career with the Boston Celtics–has agreed to pay a sum of $1.4 million over allegations that did not disclose he was paid while promoting a cryptocurrency.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced the news earlier on Friday.

Known by fans as “The Truth,” Pierce additionally made misleading and false statements about EthereumMax during his promotions. The SEC says he was paid north of $200,000 to promote it without saying how much he was compensated. Kim Kardashian was previously charged with falsely promoting the same token.

Though he agreed to not promote crypto for the next three years, Pierce did not admit to or deny the allegations.

Since his retirement from professional basketball, the ten-time NBA All-Star hasn’t had the easiest post-playing career. His most notable scandal came a few years back after he was booted from ESPN after he shared an Instagram Live video of him smoking with strippers dancing in the background.
