(New York, NY) — Vikings K.J. Osborn, is making headlines for all of the right reasons today.

The wide receiver and three others are responsible for saving a man from a burning vehicle in Austin, Texas Sunday evening. The told 25-year-old told ESPN yesterday that a vehicle sped past his Uber before crashing into a pillar under a bridge overpass.

Osborn described it as an, “life and death” snap decision when he rushed towards a burning car. His Uber driver initially wanted to call 911, but the wide receiver noticed how serious the situation was and knew they needed to take immediate action. “I’m like, ‘No, we got to go save this guy,” Osborn said.

“We didn’t know if this car was going to blow up, so that’s when I picked him up. He’s bleeding, his blood is on me, I carry him maybe 10 or 15 yards,” Osborn said. “We’re professional athletes, but you know, I’m a regular person just like anybody else. That wasn’t a game, this is life. This was life or death.”

“Most of the time the saying goes ‘wrong place wrong time.’ But this time I believe God had me, us, at the right place at the exact right time. Last night myself and these 3 absolute heroes helped save a mans life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash. A situation I’d never imagine being apart of in a million years.”

The Uber driver and the two other heroes have not been identified.

Osborn said he plans on visiting the man he saved in the hospital.
