(New York, NY) — The New York Yankees continue to get obliterated by the injury bug.

Just hours after Brian Cashman announced that newly acquired Carlos Rodon would start the season on the injured list, Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed Harrison Bader suffered an oblique injury and will receive further testing.

Bader felt something in that area Wednesday, presumably while going 0-for-2 with a strikeout in the Yankees’ Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals. The hope is that the additional testing is to rule out anything significant, but it’s possible that Bader winds up starting the regular season on the injured list. The team should receive more clarity by Friday.

The Bombers are already without starting pitcher Frankie Montas, who could miss the entire season. Brian Cashman also told reporters that relievers Tommy Kahnle and Lou Trivino will begin the season on the injured list.

The Yankees open the season on March 30th vs. the San Francisco Giants.
