NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Phoenix Suns
(New York, NY) — New troubling information has come to light about Ja Morant: namely that he was investigated by law enforcement last fall for assault after he got in the middle of a fight at his sister’s volleyball match.
According to police reports obtained by TMZ Sports, the Memphis All-Star and his friends confronted a teen in the stands during a tense moment in the match; the teen was previously in an argument with Morant’s sister. One of those with Morant slapped the phone out of the teen’s hand and made a threat.
The mother of the student who originally fought with Ja’s sister Jamie Morant sought to press charges against Ja’s group for intimidation and harassment. Morant was investigated for simple assault and intimidation but was not charged.
Morant remains away from the Grizzlies due to his more well-known criminal allegations.
