(New York, NY) — DeAndre Hopkins’ wish? To play for the Dallas Cowboys.

According to NFL Network reporter Jane Slater, the All-Pro receiver has made it known he would like the Arizona Cardinals to trade him to Americas team.

“This is my evening tweet covering my bases,” Slater wrote on Wednesday. “I’ve asked … anything to the DHop rumors?’

“A source (replied), ‘No DHop talk from us. He’s telling everybody he wants to be a Cowboy.”

Hopkins also responded to a tweet from Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, saying “It’s about time” (for Hopkins to join the Cowboys) with the receiver posting the “shrug” emoji in return.

With Arizona looking to shed salary, Hopkins is a prime candidate to be traded this offseason. The 30-year-old is owed nearly $35 million over the final two years of his contract. To answer your next question, yes, the Cowboys have the funds. Dallas currently ranks 5th in the NFL in cap space.

On paper, it’s a logical landing spot. After trading Amari Cooper to the Browns last season, Dallas failed to replace the six-time Pro Bowler. Dalton Schultz, who finished second on the team with 557 receiving yards is currently a free agent.

Outside of cutting All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliot Wednesday, the Cowboys have been one of the quietest teams in the NFL through the first week of free agency. With options becoming limtied, and Dallas needing to improve, expect owner Jerry Jones to make a splash.

That splash? Deandre Hopkins.
