(New York, NY) — Cam Newton saw New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones sign an extension worth 40 million dollars a year and decided it was time for a return.
The former Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots quarterback is returning to his stomping grounds for another shot at league stardom. Newton posted a Twitter video announcing he’d workout at Auburn’s pro day in front of NFL scouts. He did not fail to call out other QBs in the process.
“Tell me how these randoms keep getting jobs…ain’t 32 motherf—– better than me,” Newton said.

The 11-year pro has always been confident in his ability to perform at the highest level. The last we saw of the 2015 MVP, was an eight game stretch with Carolina in 2021. Newton only tallied four touchdowns and five interceptions.
While Newtons prime is far behind him, there are a few teams that could utilize the 33-year-old and his skillset in a backup capacity.
Baltimore and Tampa Bay are two potential landing spots for the Texas native services. For Baltimore, things are in limbo following the non-exclusive tagging of quarterback Lamar Jackson. Baltimore is unlikely to implode an entire system due to Jackson’s potential departure and thus may look into a quarterback who is known to utilize his legs in Newton.
In Tampa Bay, with the retirement of Tom Brady, the Bucs’ new QB1 is up in the air.
A disgraced Baker Mayfield? An unproven Kyle Trask? You might as well throw Cam Newton into the mix at QB1 to see what sticks. And as cliche, as it sounds, competition may breed the best out of all three players.
