(New York, NY) — The New York Rangers have locked up another member of their core long term.
The team announced on Wednesday they have signed forward Filip Chytil to a four-year contract extension worth $17.75 million. The Czech native will count just under $4.44 million annually against the salary cap through the 2026-27 season.
Chytil, 23, is enjoying a career year for the Blue Shirts, setting a career high with 22 goals to go along with 20 assists in 66 games for the playoff-bound Rangers.
Add the former first round draft pick to a list of long-term commitments that include Mika Zibanejad signed through 2030, Adam Fox through 2029, Chris Kreider through 2027, Artemi Panarin through 2026, and Igor Shesterkin through 2025.
New York (44-20-10) is third in the Metropolitan Division, two points behind the New Jersey Devils and five points behind the Carolina Hurricanes. The Rangers visit the Devils on Thursday.
