(New York, NY) — It could have been a terrible, gruesome injury. Or worse.

Philadelphia wide receiver AJ Brown was nearly hit by a car while at the sixth annual Eagles Autism Challenge charity bike ride.

Brown, while biking, was livestreaming the event on Instagram when he came to an intersection and his phone suddenly flipped upside down.

Luckily, the Pro Bowler took to Twitter to clear up any fears and said that someone ran a stop sign and that he dropped his phone while running out of the way.

“I’m fine everyone lol,” Brown wrote in a tweet. “Someone ran the stop sign. I didn’t fall off my bike, I just dropped my phone and got out of the way. Stay safe everyone.”

Brown didn’t give a description of the vehicle, but suspected a Dallas Cowboys fan was behind the wheel.

“I think I saw a star on the license plate,” Brown tweeted with a crying laughing face emoji.

Not only did the Eagles avoid a major disaster, but their 6th annual Eagles Autism Challenge was a major success. This year’s event raised over $6.2 million, more than $2 million more than last year’s event.

Brown just finished his first season in Philadelphia after three years in Tennessee — helping Philly reach the Super Bowl.
