(New York, NY) — Damar Hamlin is back on the field just months after he collapsed during a game in January.

The 25-year-old was spotted taking part in individual drills yesterday as part of the Bills’ organized team activities workouts.

“I’m not going to get into specifics — where he is and what hour. But he’s in the building working, and we’ll take it one day at a time,” confirmed Bills head coach Sean McDermott.

Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during Buffalo’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2nd and needed to be resuscitated on the field.

The Bills safety was cleared to resume football activities last month and plans on making a comeback to the NFL. There’s no word yet if he’ll be ready for the teams’ season opener.

“He has not been practicing,” McDermott explained. “We’re going to just continue to take it one day at a time. We’re going to support Damar in every way possible.”

Hamlin was named the 2023 George Halas Award winner by the Professional Football Writers of America earlier in May.

“I just want to show people that fear is a choice. You can keep going at something without having the answers and without knowing what’s at the end of the tunnel. This was a life-changing event, but it’s not the end of my story.” Hamlin said.

In February, Dr. Thom Mayer, the medical director for the NFLPA, emphatically stated, “I guarantee you that Damar Hamlin will play professional football again.”

That bet? Looking pretty good.
