(New York, NY) — Harrison Bader, battling an injured right hamstring, will be sidelined at least a couple of contests and could need a stint on the injured list.

This is according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone during an interview on the Talkin’ Yanks podcast Tuesday.

“He’s got a little spot in there. It’s an isolated spot, so we’ll see,” Boone said.  “It’s his right hamstring, so I think it’s going to be one of those things that’s day-to-day or it could be a short IL stint. They don’t seem to think it’s real bad, but obviously being a speed guy and everything it could be something that does cost him some days.”

The club can take a couple of days to decide since IL stints’ can be backdated by three days, provided that the player hasn’t participated in those intervening games.

Bader is going to undergo an MRI after exiting Monday’s contest in Seattle with the injury. If he does wind up needing time on the IL, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Greg Allen would likely handle center for the Yanks.

“We’ve got a lot of confidence in what IKF has become now in the outfield,” Boone said. “Whether we put him in left or center we feel really good about that. Allen is a really good defender, so you know you’re gonna get that and we know Aaron is capable of sliding over.

Before he had to exit, Bader was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, a stolen base and a run scored.
