(New York, NY) — We all know Breece Hall is a skilled football player, and his comeback from his torn ACL injury surely will be great for the New York Jets at some point.

But apparently, he’ll be on the sidelines past the start of training camp.

The Athletic’s Zach Rosenblatt writes “it would be surprising” if Hall were to be ready by then. Rosenblatt posits that “they’re either confident Hall will return to form — which is rare the first year post-ACL surgery — or believe the other running backs can hold down the fort.”  And for the Jets, they’d look to Michael Carter and Zonovan Knight.

“You don’t want to go too fast with [an injured ACL],” head coach Robert Saleh said. “But he looks strong, he looks powerful. He looks fantastic.”

Saleh seems confident the second-year back will be ready for the Jets’ season opener against the Bills. Of course, whatever “ready” means for Hall–100%, 90%, even 80% of who he used to be–remains an open question.

Hall was incredibly efficient as a rusher and a pass catcher before going down with an ACL injury in late October, so even at 80% he might be a better option than his teammates.

Stay Tuned.
