(New York, NY) — “What is ‘Patience?’”
The New York Jets won’t see their new star quarterback Aaron Rodgers at practice for a little while longer as he works his way back to health. Ever since he tweaked his calf last week during the team’s warm-up period, he’s been out.
Head coach Robert Saleh said on Wednesday Rodgers will practice on a limited basis, and the team hopes he can make a full return soon.
“He’s fine, just doing a bunch of rehab,” Saleh said. “He’ll be limited today. Just hoping we’ll get him full on Friday, for sure next week.”
Saleh was asked if they need to change that work for an older player. Rodgers is up there by NFL standards, aged 39.
“You’re always trying to learn, obviously,” Saleh said. “I still argue he’s still a young man, the way he takes care of his body. I know his age. His body is not his age. We’ve got to do a better job just making sure that we communicate with the players and understanding where they are at certain points. I think that was our first tweak in our activation period but we’ll always look to modify it if we need to.”
