(Seattle, Washington) — It’s a dream for many to be in the outfield catching balls during the Home Run Derby. Getting drilled in the face? Not so much.

During Blue Jay slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s championship-winning round Monday, the first baseman hit a line drive to the outfield that hit a kid directly in the face.

The line drive was hit at 115.8 miles per hour, according to Dodgers writer Blake Harris, leading to virtually a missile being hit off the young fan’s head.

“Kid is all treated with an ice pack,” @RealTomBentley wrote on Twitter. “Crowd cheered for him.”

Guerrero went on to hit 25 home runs to outlast the Rays’ Randy Arozarena for the derby title.

He also joined his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr. as a derby winner, making them the first father-son duo in MLB history to both capture the derby title.

“When my family pushes me to do something, usually good things happen,” the younger Guerrero said. “We gave all we had. It’s not easy. Some people think it is easy, but swinging hard for three minutes, it’s going to take a lot from you.”

The All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday night in Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
