(New York, NY) — Big Q is staying in the Big Apple.

The New York Jets and Quinnen Williams have agreed on a four-year, $96 million contract extension, including $66 million in guaranteed money.

The deal makes Williams the second-highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, behind only Aaron Donald.

It was only a matter of time before the 25-year-old inked a new deal after the top defensive tackles (Jeffrey Simmons, Darron Paye, Dexter Lawrence) all received contract extensions.

Williams flourished last season, compiling 12 sacks, amd earning a First Team All-Pro nod. He is the first Jet to receive such honors at the position since Hall of Famer Joe Klecko.

While the kid in braces has been all smiles since arriving in New York, many wondered if the Jets would sign Williams to the lucrative deal he was looking for. Coach Robert Salah was confident he’d be back with the team for training camp.

“He’ll be ready to roll, and once he is, I’m sure it’ll be the same guy who was here.”

The Jets now have a young core on both sides of the ball with Williams, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and Sauce Gardner under contract for the foreseeable future.

Now, with an all-time great at the helm in Aaron Rodgers, Gang Green is going to need another monster season out of their $24 million defensive tackle as they look to make a Super Bowl run.
