RJ Barrett to Play for Team Canada in FIBA World Cup

(New York, NY) — The Knicks will be well represented in the FIBA World Cup later this summer.

RJ Barrett has been named to Team Canada’s 12-man roster, joining Jamal Murray of the Nuggets and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder, among others.

Barrett’s father, Rowan, is the general manager/executive vice president of the Canadian team.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were also named to the American squad, which will be coached by Steve Kerr.

The tournament will be held from Aug. 25-Sept. 10 in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.

Barrett averaged 19.6 points and 5.0 rebounds in 73 games last season.
