(Salt Lake City, UT) – Tragedy has struck the NBA, as Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic has died at the age of 46.

Milojevic was hospitalized Tuesday night after a “sudden and serious health issue” at a Salt Lake City restaurant, according to ESPN. The issue was already considered serious enough that the NBA had decided to postpone Wednesday’s Warriors-Jazz game prior to Milojevic’s passing. The league referred to the situation as an “medical emergency in the Warriors family.”

Milojevi, 46, traveled with the team to Utah for the scheduled game – coaches and players were eating together when the incident occurred. Milojevic joined Steve Kerr’s staff in 2021. He also enjoyed success as a player throughout a 15-year professional playing career, including stops in Serbia, Spain, Montenegro and Turkey.
This would appear to be a random incident that’s somehow connected to Milojevic’s individual health.

Now we know that players won’t be in action Wednesday night, and it remains to be seen when the Warriors will get back on the court. Golden State’s next scheduled game is this Friday when they’re scheduled to host the Dallas Mavericks.
