(New York, NY) – As the Knicks eye the upcoming February 8 trade deadline, most of the league’s observers are expecting New York to make another trade.

The team’s most recent acquisition of OG Anunoby has been a hit – both in terms of his fit on the court, and how the fans have embraced his style of play. It seems many agree Anunoby is a perfect fit for head coach Tom Thibodeau’s style. He’s a strong defender who always gives exceptional effort on both ends of the floor. Now, another rumored candidate is emerging – and he fits the profile.

Enter Bruce Brown, a 27-year-old guard who is considered a strong defender. He also fits an immediate roster-based need, as a backup point guard – something the Knicks need after including Immanuel Quickley in the trade to acquire Anunoby. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Knicks consider Brown a trade target. He was just dealt to the Toronto Raptors after starting the season with the Indiana Pacers.

Brown spoke to reporters over the weekend, telling the New York Post: “I am a dog. I play extremely hard on both ends of the floor. I can do just about whatever [Thibodeau] needs me to do.” And he feels like he’d fit well with the Knicks: “I play extremely hard. I would think [I’m] the type of player that he likes. Every time we play Thibs I go up to him and shake his hand, just because of what he’s done. Nothing but respect for Thibs.”

Last year, as a member of the Denver Nuggets, Brown won an NBA Championship. Drafted out of Miami, he was linked to the Knicks this summer during free agency. Most league experts say the Raptors want to flip Brown before the deadline, as they’re considered rebuilding.
