DENVER — Jerry Jeudy’s disappointing tenure is Denver over, and his teammate is not happy about it.

On Instagram, Courtland Sutton posted a picture of himself and Jeudy with the caption, “They are playing with my emotions at this point.” Later in the day, on X, Sutton posted a GIF of Will Smith from ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ standing alone in an empty room.

His frustrations stem after the Broncos traded Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday – getting just a fifth- and sixth-round pick back in return. The deal won’t be official until the new league year begins on Wednesday. The Alabama standout was drafted by the Broncos with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but failed to meet draft-day  expectations.

Now, he joins a receiver room that includes Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore, and Cedric Tillman. Jeudy, 24, recorded 54 receptions, 758 receiving yards, and two touchdowns last year.

He most notably came under criticism for his performances last year from former reciever and current NFL Network analyst Steve Smith

“I’ll repeat it — I’m sorry I said you were a JAG [just a guy] or just a guy who’s an average wide receiver they used a first-round pick on that doesn’t do anything,” Smith said on-air amid the feud. “I hope you show up today in a way that you haven’t shown up in the last couple of years since they drafted you.

“So if you’ve ever got a problem with Agent 89, I’m sorry for saying you’re an average wide receiver that [the Broncos] will eventually move on, and when teams call me and ask [if] they should trade for you, I will say no, don’t trade for Jerry Jeudy because he is mentally unable to handle constructive criticism. … He can be a wide receiver — he’s a tier 3.”

Luckily for Jeudy – it can only go up from here.
