LOS ANGELES — Trevor Bauer is stilling aiming to make a comeback to MLB after a three-year hiatus.

The right-hander announced on social media that he will pitch for the Mexican team Diablos Rojos in an exhibition game against the New York Yankees on Sunday.

Bauer stated that he will also pitch five games for Diablos Rojos from April 11 to May 8 as part of his preparation for a potential return.

“This will help me stay in game shape and I’ll be able to join a rotation immediately if or when an MLB offer comes,” Bauer posted Monday on X.

The Post’s Jon Heyman reported last Thursday that the 33-year-old is still trying to catch on with an MLB club.

“I don’t believe that I was given a lifetime ban. I have served my time. Do I not deserve an opportunity to come back?”

Bauer’s MLB career took a downturn after he was suspended by MLB and subsequently released by the Los Angeles Dodgers following accusations of sexual assault by a woman.

While Bauer denied the allegations, he was placed on administrative leave and faced significant scrutiny. Legal proceedings followed, with Bauer eventually settling with the woman who accused him. However, he has remained unsigned since.

Despite the controversy surrounding him, Bauer is a talented pitcher with notable achievements, including winning the Cy Young Award in 2020 while playing for the Cincinnati Reds. It’s possible that he still could attract interest from MLB teams looking to bolster their pitching rotation.

If he does not, Bauer has not ruled out returning to Yokohama to pitch for the DeNa BayStars.
