Damar Hamlin Scorches Antonio Brown in Social Media Argument

BUFFALO — Social media is one of the most unique places in the world. You’re able to connect with people around the globe and interact with countless communities.

But it can also be exhausting.

Just ask Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

Hamlin made an incredible recovery and returned to the NFL after suffering cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2, 2023.

It was one of the most terrifying moments in league history. Fortunately, Hamlin was able to make a full recovery and return to the NFL this past season.

That’s probably why Hamlin didn’t enjoy former WR Antonio Brown sending a viral tweet (joking?) that Hamlin might have died.

Brown, responded to a tweet that posed the question, “(Who’s) a fictional character’s death that you have NOT gotten over?” and used a picture of Hamlin as some sort of attempt at dark humor.

Well, Hamlin wasn’t going to take Brown’s tweet lying down and fired back.

“You just DM me on Monday? guess you playing lame games on twitter with my situation because I ain’t DM you back. I pray God don’t ever let me turn into a burnt out old head like you.. I used to look up to you damn near **** sad frfr. Talk bout a clone bring the real AB back!

“I pray God don’t ever let me turn into a burnt out old head like you,” Hamlin typed. “I used to look up to you (…) Talk ’bout a clone, bring the real AB back!”

It’s hard blame Hamlin for responding. He shouldn’t be dealing with any of this, let alone from someone who played in the NFL.

Ultimately, Hamlin’s message is one Bills and all NFL fanbases can relate to.

What happened to Antonio Brown?

He went from being on a Hall of Fame trajectory early in his career to someone trying to farm engagement on social media through wild tweets like the above. It’s getting sadder and sadder by the day.

Brown is truly in a special place right now. One minute, he’s saying that he wants to attend a Trump rally. Next, he’s joking that Damar Hamlin might have actually died.

It’s quite the fall off for a man that used to tear up NFL defenses. Now, he’s busy fishing for interaction on social media.

Welcome to 2024.

But at the end of the day. Hamlin’s advice is meaningful, and it applies to everyone. Get off social media, and actually do something to better yourself.
