“The Eagles are sending the edge-rusher to the New York for a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could be a second, sources tell ESPN. The 2026 pick becomes a 2nd if Reddick has 67.5% playtime this season and has 10 or more sacks. If not, it’s a 2023 third,” NFL Insider Adam Schefter wrote on twitter.

Just about five hours before Super Bowl LVIII began, it was reported that Reddick has received permission to seek a trade and “could land elsewhere.”

“I would like to get an extension done here at home. At no point did I ever tell the organization I want to be traded,” Reddick said. “This is home for me. I was born and raised here. Two of the most fun years playing football in my life came here. I’ve cherished being an Eagle.”

The edge-rusher was entering the final year of his contract, a three-year, $45 million deal he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in March of 2022, but was set to enter 2024 with no guaranteed money.

Reddick, 29, started all 17 games for the Eagles the past two seasons, compiling 27 sacks across those two years and leading the NFL with five forced fumbles in 2022.

The Cardinals selected him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he spent four years with Arizona and one with the Panthers before joining the Eagles ahead of their run to the Super Bowl loss in 2022.

As for the Jets, they needed help at outside linebacker after the departure of Bryce Huff – and Reddick was among the best available options. They will take on a $14.5 million salary cap from the move.
