(Florham Park, NJ) – It’s always vital for a young pass catcher to develop a rapport with his QB.

And Jets rookie third-round WR Malachi Corley is taking that very seriously. He’s already at the team’s facility for rookie minicamp – and the bonding is underway with QB Aaron Rodgers.

“I only talked to him on draft night,” Corley told the New York Post’s Brian Costello. “(But) I’ve texted him the last couple of nights. I’m just like a little kid. He’s an adult. He’s the MVP, Hall of Famer, all those types of things. I’m just like a little kid talking to him all the time, texting him, trying to see what he’s done to stay consistent in the league, the things that he’s done to work on his mental health, how he’s kept his body alive so long.”

Corley is wise to seek counsel from one of the league’s best ever in Rodgers. It also sounds like he might not even need to pick up the phone going forward to get more advice. “He said I could stay in his guest house if I want to. So, yeah, me and him are close,” Corley disclosed. “That’s going to be my dog while I’m here.”

Jets fans can only dream of what that type of connection could make. Rodgers’ neighbors in Cedar Grove, New Jersey will also be peeking over the backyard fence to see if the QB and Corley are trying out new route combinations.
