This weekend when the Buffalo Bills battle the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night football, star quarterback Josh Allen has the chance to do something that hasn’t been done since 1996.

Allen with a win over Aaron Rodgers will have defeated 3 former MVP quarterbacks in a 4-game span. Troy Aikman was the last to accomplish such a feature when he defeated Dan Marino, Steve Young and Brett Favre in 1996. It is a testament to how good Allen has been this year through 6 games.

Allen has defeated Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes, and is looking to add the reigning back-to-back MVP Rodgers to that list. All are top tier quarterbacks in the league and earning wins against them is big in a season where Allen is shooting for his own MVP award. Through six games Allen has his Bills firing on all cylinders and sitting at 5-1 as the top dog in the AFC. The Bills currently rank as the number one offense in the league with 440/yards per game.

Josh Allen has been absolutely electric through the first seven weeks of NFL action, although he has only played six games due to the Bills early bye week. Despite playing in only six games and sitting out two fourth quarters due to blowouts, Allen is still in the top five in passing yards with 1,980.  Allen is still second in passing touchdowns with 17 and second in total touchdowns with 19. He still leads the league in passing yards per game with 330.0/per game. Through week 7 he has built quite the resume and soon we could be adding the title “MVP Slayer” to his name.
