(New York, NY) —  Dwight Howard spent this past season away from the limelight of American sports media, but is not considering a comeback.

“I’m not retired from the NBA just yet,” said the eight time NBA All-Star.

Howard, whose career accomplishments include eight All-NBA selections, five All-Defense selections and three DPOY awards, last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season as a member of the Lakers, winning a championship.

This past season, Howard has been playing professionally in Taiwan for the Taoyuan Leopards.

He averaged 23.2 points and 16.2 rebounds per game for the Leopards, who went 6-24 and finished last in the T1 League standings. Despite his success, the former NBA star’s performance outside the league was meant to be interim, according to an ambitious Howard.

His return, not yet set in stone, is likely to be with Sacramento— a city Howard would love to help out.

“I would love to help the Sacramento Kings contend for a title,” said the former NBA finals champion. The Franchise boasts only a single NBA title, won back in 1951 when the team played under the name of the Rochester Royal of New York.

“I like Mike Brown,” Howard told Haynes. “I think he’s an amazing coach, and what he accomplished this year was very impressive.”

So, will Superman don his cape for one last ride?

It’s unlikely. While Howard was the NBA’s most dominant center at the peak of his career, he will turn 38 years old in December, and almost three years removed from competitive basketball.
